School Project Success!

School Project Success-6

Sometimes I feel like I’m swimming in kids’ school stuff.

Seriously.

Between the worksheets, and assignment sheets, and spelling sheets, and craft projects, and art projects (not to be confused with the craft projects), and super duper important information sheets, I”m drowning.

So I asked Pinterest what to do.

And she {because clearly, Pinterest is a woman} said to get organized.

So I did.

With file folders and plastic file bins.

You have GOT to do this, friends.

MY LIFE HAS BEEN CHANGED.

I did this over the weekend.  Before I did those cubby tags, because a lot of this stuff was previously IN those cubbies.  But no longer!  It’s all pretty now.

And CONTAINED.

Do you hear angels singing?  I do.

Here’s what I did:

First I cut each kid’s name out of cardstock with my Silhouette.  You could just use stickers or trace and cut letters by hand.

Then I found some cute patterned paper to glue their names to.  The paper was a smidge too big for the plastic file box, so I did have to trim it down a bit to make it stand up nicely in front of the file folders.School Project Success-4See?  I just stands up in there.  I didn’t glue or attach it because I thought my taste {or theirs} might change and I’d want a different look.  The pressure from the folders holds it in place just fine.School Project Success-8

Then I got each kid a file folder for each grade level.

Which added up to a lot of folders.

Who was it that wanted four kids?  Oh right.  Me.  :) School Project Success-7

Then I plunked the junk important papers in the correct folder.  Easy peasy lemon squeezy!School Project Success-10I admit to getting a little sentimental when I thought about how these bins would look all filled up.

But then I got over it after it took me a while to put the stuff we already had in there.  Thank goodness I”m doing this now, not when Helen’s a senior in high school or something.  I can only imagine how  much junk important stuff there would be!

I rotated the folders so that the current grade folder would be right in front.  I figured it would be a lot easier to keep up if I didn’t even have to think or search for the correct folder.  Seems to be working so far!School Project Success-9

They look so fun all stacked up and coordinated and organized!

I love it.

Now I just need to decide where to PUT them.

Meh. Details.
