Hey Friends.
I just wanted to say a couple of things to you today.
First…
I BIG PUFFY HEART ALL OF YOU!!
In Glittery Bubble Letters. For reals.
Second….
Yes, I made the kids’ Valentines again. But I want you to read this post by a really smart Mom. Cause I totally, completely, 100% agree.
I make them ’cause I think it’s fun.
Not to make anyone else feel bad, or be less fun. I’m crafty, and I like doing it.
The. End.
So if you send a McQueen Valentine with a pencil shoved through it, like George took to Preschool, Go You!
And if you spent hours working on fancy dance Valentines for each kid, also, Go You!
Whew. Ok. Let’s look at the results from this year’s endeavors.
I have to admit, I loved the ones I did last year and the year before so much I’m not as pumped about these. But they’re pretty fun anyways.
I took pictures of the kids then used Photoshop to turn them into fun printables. I just sent them over to the 1 hour printer and ta da!
Here’s what we did this year:
Helen gave each kid a ring pop.
We went through several Beyonce related sayings before ditching that plan and going for this instead. Second graders do NOT need to “put a ring on it.” AHEM.

And JR rocked crazy hair and a Rice Crispy Treat.
Also, let me let you in on a little secret.
I have the kids address their Valentines on labels. Then stick the labels on the Valentine. This is a good plan because
A. You can do the labels whenever, whether you actually have the Valentines or not {not that you could possibly be disorganized in any way and need to print the Valentines the day before. Cough.}
And,
B. If they mess up (and they prolly will at least once) its no biggie. Just do another label. Win!

Ginny wanted to get in on the action, too, so I Sharpied her up a couple for her teachers at the Y. That girl has coloring skillz. I mean who can sing “Twinkle, Twinkle” while coloring a Valentine, and also NOT LOOKING AT THE PAPER AT ALL, and have it turn out like this?
Skillz. I’m telling you.
George did some for his teachers like those, too. The McQueens were perfect for the kids though.
So do you wanna see the ones I did last year? ‘Cause they really are my favorite.
JR’s were fun, and I’m sure you’ve seen it all over Pinterest by now, but I had done this for Helen a couple of years ago. He’s cute in his cape, isn’t he?
But Helen’s from last year is my absolute, number one, all time favorite.
And I CAME UP WITH IT ALL BY MYSELF.
I know. Pinterest wasn’t even involved!
See:
I took a picture of her jumping all cute then used a craft knife to slit the picture and slide the licorice whip through. {The gray on the picture is just the shadow from the whip.} Look how little she looks, just one year ago! Yikes.
I’m not sure I can top that one. It was adorbs.
Anyways, I hope that you have a very very fabulous Valentine’s Day!
Full of chocolate LOVE.
I’ll see you tomorrow for InstaFriday!! MWAH!!
♥
